Wow! Has it really been a month since I quit meat and animal products?! Time sure flies when you’re feeling physically, emotionally, and mentally AWESOME!
To be quite honest, despite my general optimism, I had a few moments of doubt and temptation. But with one month under my belt, I feel more confident in sticking with being vegan. It really helps that I’ve been feeling some great health benefits.
Over the last month of becoming vegan, I:
- have been losing 2 lbs a week, steadily for the last 4 weeks. This is especially motivating since I’ve been trying to eat healthy and have been exercising regularly without ANY change on the scale for several months. Funny thing is, I have been including tons of carbs and fats (like avo, olive oil, and nuts) in my diet to make sure I don’t get tempted by animal products.
- feel more energetic during the day. I don’t have that tired feeling I used to get a couple hours after lunch anymore!
- have been sleeping better I didn’t think there was anything wrong with the quality of sleep I was getting before. But, for the past two weeks, I have been sleeping more soundly and automatically get up at about 6:30am without any desire to sleep in.
- am way more regular Uh, enough said about that! But it’s a good thing!
